Introducing Professor Kevin P. Taylor, DePaul University

Aug 30, 2010

Obtiva President and Founder Kevin Taylor’s newest professional venture is one that we are extremely proud of and one that aligns with Obtiva’s corporate values: he is designing and teaching a new course at DePaul University on “Technology Entrepreneurship.”

Kevin has accepted an adjunct professor position with DePaul starting with the upcoming autumn quarter.

His class introduces undergraduate and graduate computer science students to the entrepreneurial process - sort of like an “MBA in Entrepreneurship in 10 Weeks” curriculum. The course will be much more hands-on than theory, teaching students how to become fledgling “hackerpreneurs.”

Those students with entrepreneurial goals will then continue on to DePaul’s “New Business Venture Laboratory” where they further pursue their ideas with the help of DePaul.

Kevin’s professorship is an incredibly worthwhile endeavor that’s in keeping with our corporate values. Emphasizing knowledge sharing and cultivating the next generation of the technology community.

Will he don a herringbone tweed sport coat with elbow patches? Doubtful, but we do know that he will be an exceptional instructor. Congratulations and a tip of the hat to you, Kevin.
